Memorial Day Weekend Wrap up

= A Small Piece of Heaven.

Well back to earth, which means back to work. This weekend was the first weekend in a long while that I had no communication with the outside world and just relaxed for an extended period of time. Some life changing lessons I learned were that relaxation is indeed wonderful, the kindle is a great invention, and Turtle Mountain’s Mocha Almond Fudge Coconut Ice Cream is delicious…

The only thing I did this weekend that was remotely exhausting was a workout on Memorial Day. I posted up on New Hope Fitness to do any workout you wanted. I used my good old noggin and came up with an impromptu workout.

Earlier that day we cut down a tree that was dieing in the back yard. I stripped the bark off of one piece and made a nice throwing log. Add a sandbag carry + some burpees and I had myself some fun. I did as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes of 5 burpees, 30 meter log toss, & 30 meter sandbag carry.

Take a look at the video in my Flickr box to the right. I think this was round 8 of 11, I swear I was going faster in the beginning.

  • John Donne – Meditation 17

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
