WHITEBOARD – 29 March 2012

Workload:

Power Clean
*Work up to a max for the day

Then:

On the minute for 10 minutes perform 2 power cleans at 80% of the max load you hit.

Notes: Just like the squats, if the bar speed slows than that is your max.  Great lifters have a tendency to make lifts up to 95% of their max look just as easy as an empty bar.  This isn’t because the lifts are easy, but because their positioning is great and the SPEED is there.   Too many people obsess about the weight they are lifting instead of listening to the lifts and feeling them.  Pay more  attention to the speed and positions of the lifts and you will be rewarded in the long run.  Think you have the appropriate speed, take a look at this young man:

  • John Donne – Meditation 17

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
