1 Rep Max Back Squat

*Hips must past the crease of your knee at bottom of squat to be a legitimate full depth squat.

Notes: First off, a HUGE thank you to Larry Thiel for organizing the olympic lifting session on Friday.  If you didn’t make it out you missed some amazing coaching by some great coaches (Erin Okonek, Casey Burgener, and Kirk Woolfolk).  Keep the good love for Olympic Lifting going by coming out for our first Olympic Lifting session (Tomorrow 6-8).  We will be addressing pulls from the hang and the jerk.  RSVP by shooting me an email or posting on the page.

For the workout: I am hearing reports and seeing with my own eyes some shortening of reps.  Remember, you are training to be healthy and a better athlete, not to push your weight up at any cost or lower your times on WODs.  We want full flexion in the squat and make sure you are always trying to be strongth through a full range of motion.  If you have an injury or movement restriction that stops you from performing full ROM, then all means don’t go to full range.  But, everyone else has no excuse!

Get a judge to determine the legitimacy of each rep if you are unsure.

    I’m in too, but after I do my squat workout where my hips will be below my knee crease since apparently Dana has spies everywhere.

    235# max. Got depth, but back angle wasn’t the best on the way up.
    Worked a couple at 225#, and 135#, though still need to improve back angle at the higher weights.

    In other news, first day of doing 2 consecutive double unders!
