WHITEBOARD – 6 April 2012

Workload:

6 Rounds of:
200m Sandbag Carry
8 Squats w/sandbag
5 Racks to overheads w/sandbag

*All movements done with sandbag at 50% bodyweight.

Notes: Enjoy the weather. Not much to say besides try and be aware of your posture and positioning during all movements. Don’t let the sandbag be held to one side for a majority of the workout. You want to make sure you are getting relatively equal loading from right to left.

In place of a sandbag (that I dont have), what do you suggest as an close alternative for this WOD? Thx

  2. Have a medium sized child handy? Other than abusing a minor you could do a number of things. Really all we are looking for is some work that is moderately taxing but you don’t do very fast. So, think about things like chopping wood for 1/2hr, wheel barrel carries with some rest inbetween, dragging or pulling anything, and any version of a weighted walk. You could add a little bit of lower body pressing and pulling to complete the workout. Let me know if you need something more specific.

  3. 5/6 Single attempts at 90% Snatch (250lb)

    Then:

5/6 Attempts at Clean ranging from 70-90% (Had to go light due to slight groan pull)

    Then:

    Back Squat

    3x5x275

  • John Donne – Meditation 17

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
