WHITEBOARD – 5 January 2012

Workload:

6 Rounds of:
3 High Hang Pulls
1 Clean
2 Jerks

*Rest approximately 120s inbetween rounds
**Start weight at around 70% best Jerk or Clean (Whatever is heavier) and do not progress over 85% unless you feel very confident.

If you are not comfortable with olympic movements perform:

6 Rounds:
10 Kettlebell Swings (Chest Level)
10 Kettlebell Swings (Full Extension)
6 Box Jumps as fast as you can.

*Rest 1 Minute after each round

Notes: Take note of your positioning in the barbell complex. Many times I see people rush a complex because they are more concerned with the necessary effort or the impending work that they loose track of the work immediately at hand. Perform the pulls with purpose, perform the clean with purpose, and finish the complex strong with two solid jerks.

Example of someone doing it better than all of us (Donny Shankle from Cal Strength):

  • John Donne – Meditation 17

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
