WHITEBOARD – 9 December 2011

Workload:

Turkish Get-up
*Record load performed on left and right

After complete the following:

100 Wallballs (20/14).

Notes: If you have not done turkish get-ups or are uneasy with them work light.  Think about keeping the shoulder in a good position and work the abs in the first three transitions.  Take a look at this video for a good demo, just excuse the cheesiness of the tucked in shirt + light jeans look with the poor magician’s background.  That is Gray Cook, one of the most well-respected coaches in this country.

For the wallballs make sure you pay attention to your form.  Too often we see soft backs and knees caving in at the bottom of the squat position.  Make that low squat perfect.

    Back Squat:
    1*6 205
    1*6 236

    Front Squat:
    1*5 162
    1*5 175.5
    1*5 190
    1*5 190

It is pretty fascinating to me how easy 6 reps at 252 feels after everything I’ve done this week. The program is definitely working.

Also, I was challenged to do the wallballs in under 10 minutes by Michael. The prize; a monster milk.

    WOD: 4:22

    I was thirsty…

If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
