WHITEBOARD – 20 April 2011

Workload:

Mobility WOD of your choice

Notes: Take a look at the Athlete of the Month page, as Christine was just posted up as the Athlete for March.  Give her a big shout out per the usual.

On a lighter note, post up what your hobbies or interests may be oustide of the gym.  One of mine is a love of motorcycles.

If we all could have this kind of passion for our work, we would all be in a good place:

Yesterday’s workout was a lot of fun. It was some latitude to try new things never attempted before because of fear you would wear yourself out for the WOD. Like ring dips and the muscle up.

I like bikes too, but mine is for sale: 94 Harley Springer Softail, 14K miles, old school flames, upswept fishtails, S&S Super E carb, EV3 Cam. Just don’t ride it much.

I also enjoy long range target shooting competition and cooking asian food (thai, japanese, vietnamese), although low carb eating has sort of cramped my cooking style.

    11.5 WOD complete

    20 minute AMRAP

    5 Power Cleans (145)
    10 Toes to Bar
    15 Wall Balls (20)

    6 rounds + 5 + 2

That was by far the worst one. The combination of the met-con elements mixed with the heavy olympic pull was just killer.

Hobbies: reading (comic books are included in there as well), writing when i have the time and motivation, cooking in general, growing veggies on my apartment balcony in the spring and summer, and watching movies. I’m a huge movie fan, probably the reason why my overall move collection is around 500+ titles.

Can we get whatever Tatiana is sniffing at 4:30? Can Dan and Dana wear matching New Hope fitness jumpsuits to the next competition? Can Dan virgorously rub my posterior chain before each attempt?

  8. Dara's avatar Dara says:

Hobbies? You mean other than watching K-Star MWOD videos late at night after Garrett’s gone to bed?

  9. Dara's avatar Dara says:

Should I be ashamed that I squat as much as a 9yr old?

Golf. Not that I’m any good, but I love it. Anyone else? Would love some course recommendations in the area.

  • John Donne – Meditation 17

No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were. Any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind; and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee...
