WORKLOAD:
4 x 400 Meter Runs (120s Rest)
Notes: This week is a light week, it is built-in for recovery. If you have been following the whiteboard as prescribed please take the opportunity to have an easy week. Be smart and always be aware of the symptoms of overtraining (higher resting heart rate, prolonged muscle soreness, irritability, restlessness, lethargy, and possible depression). Take a look at a post I wrote a long time ago about adrenal fatigue and some sleep management skills we can address to help out with cortisol management.
For the runs, please make sure you rest the entire 120s before starting your next. Yes, I know this doesn’t feel like rest, but the volume is low. Take the intensity down a notch and try to keep all 4 runs at about a 80-85% effort.
